Just got my copies of Joe Boyd's newest book, Between Two Kingdoms.
Glad I waited to purchase the book, as today, the book was available after all the weekend celebrations at the Vineyard, with all proceeds ($10 per copy) going to the Luke 4 Challenge. As an added bonus, Joe signed personalized copies.
I grabbed a copy for me and the sis.
I asked Joe to sign mine as "Tweet Maureenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04207464732821498878noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7601759449141101286.post-61896268885369915632010-03-05T13:15:00.006-05:002010-03-05T13:51:19.962-05:00Ignite Cincy #2: Best of Slides
Thanks to my friend Brooke, I was lucky to snag a ticket to the coveted/sold out Ignite Cincinnati #2 at the Know Theater on Wednesday night.
Since #IgniteCincy is all about the presentations - 14 presenters. 5 minutes. 20 slides. 1 subject. - I thought I'd recap with what I thought were the best of the best slides of the event. Not even the imminent threat of snow, blustery winds and freezing temps could keep us away from the OTR's Final Friday last week.

If you missed the free opening celebration of Shepard Fairey's "Supply and Demand" exhibit at the CAC last Friday...well, then you should just go ahead and punch yourself in the face.
To say that the Fairey opening was *THE* event of the city that Friday night would definitely be one of the biggest understatements of the year. There are a lot of things in this world that piss me off. And if I didn't love Jesus, I'd go Moses on every single thing that pisses me off.
SO...since I can't go Moses on every single thing that pisses me off, I compromise by (trying) to channel that pissedoffness into something productive...and legal.

April 11, 2010, would have marked four years that I became a vegan. I say would have because in the beginning of December 2009, I started transitioning into being a vegetarian.
Why the change?
It all started when a waiter at a local restaurant screwed up my request for no cheese on my salad. The weekend started out with a fabulous, romantic dinner at Oriental Wok in Ft.Wright on Friday night. If you haven't been, you owe it to yourself. The owners, the Wongs, and the staff, will treat you like royalty...and a member of their own family. And don't forget about the food...definitely worth the extra penny than your regular Chinese joint.

I really thought long and hard about what my reading material would be for "The Passage to India", since essentially, I'll be traveling for 20 hours on a plane(s)! (barf)
Instead of exerting too much mental strain, I decided to let inspiration just come to me, as I browsed a local bookstore.
And, there it was...
